    The One Thing

In one of his most beloved parables, Jesus likens the kingdom of heaven to a merchant searching for fine pearls, who, when he finds it, "goes and sells all that he has and buys it."  (Mt. 13:45-46).  When Martha asks Jesus to tell her sister, Mary, to help with the business of hospitality, he replies, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.  There is need of only one thing.  Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.  (Lk 10:38-42)

In this three-day parish mission, Fr. Mike Fones, O.P. will investigate what this "one thing," this "pearl of great price" worthy of our all, is.  How do we find it, and, perhaps most importantly, what happens to those who do?
