Your last issue? It may be! Check the address label on the front of this issue. If you see "xxx" on the first line it means we haven’t heard from you for a long, long time. We want to continue providing the Scribe free of charge, but our mailing list keeps growing. We hope that sending it only to those who really want it will keep our costs manageable. But don’t worry. If your label was marked but you still want the Scribe, just let us know!

We are delighted to announce a new Institute publication: a four-hour audio cassete series on the Call to Christian Happiness, by Fr. Michael and Sherry Weddell. Now available for ordering!

On the international front, Fr. Michael and Sherry Weddell have had the honor of being invited to Rome to make a presentation on the work of the Institute before the students and professors of the Angelicum and the North American College. They will also meet with Cardinal Stafford, president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. This is in-deed a wonderful opportunity to spread the vision of the Institute! As we go to press, we have already raised $5095 toward our $7000 goal needed to cover expenses and loss of workshop revenue! Thank you, thank you! The Siena Institute operates on a shoestring budget, so any help goes a long ways!

A copy of the Institute’s lovely icon of St. Catherine of Siena has been reprinted in the Christian Science Monitor’s millennial edition. As for the accompanying article, see Sherry Weddell’s column in this issue.

New Arrival! Sherry Curp, erstwhile office manager, safely de-livered Miriam Ione Curp, 10 lbs., 10 oz., on November 29th. A lovely Christmas present, we feel!

A week ago, we received the following fax at the Institute office:

"Dear Madam,

I am from Chennai in India and we have formed a Catholic group a year ago called Stewards, which primarily is a fellowship for Business and professional lay people ,with the objective of spreading the Kingdom of God, by our lives in our families and in our professional work place. The group’s activities are with the permission of the Archdiocese of Chennai, and is co-ordinated by a Redemptorist priest.

In the last year, we have about 35 Members and I understand from Mr. C. Stephen of Chennai that this Course material will be of immense use to all our Members...I request you to consider (if possible), sending us 1 copy of The Called and Gifted Workshop without any cost..."

Your gift of $59.00 allows us to send an audiocassette package to someone in need. As others have done, you can target your tax-deductible donation specifically for this purpose. Write or call us.
